ABOUT MADI MARTIN

     As a graphic designer my goal is to make designs full of fun and whimsy. I enjoy exploring the boundaries between playful and professional. Along with seeing how far I can push a design to the playful side. I'm immensely inspired by designers like Elliot Ulm who uses his designs as a way to showcase his comedy, and to poke fun at the graphic design industry. Also Katrina Romulo who has always emphasized making work feel like play.

     Ultimately I want to focus on designing for publication purposes. Things like book covers and magazine layouts, since that's what originally got me into the design world. I aim to find a way to combine the clear, cohesive, and professional aesthetic often used in this field with a wave of nostalgic, quirky design elements that make it all more fun for readers. I hope to push against the oversimplified, "corporate" style and replace it with designs that feel more unique.​​​​​​​
